Laura Kenny, the most accomplished female Olympian from Britain, has declared her retirement from the sport of cycling. At 31 years old, Kenny has achieved five Olympic gold medals, securing the top spot in team pursuit and omnium at both the 2012 and 2016 Olympics. She also earned a gold medal in the madison race at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, as well as a silver medal in team pursuit. Kenny holds the titles of seven-time world champion, 14-time European champion, and two-time Commonwealth Games winner. Additionally, she was the British National Road Race champion in 2014.
