Joey “The Lips” Fagan stated, “To me, it all starts with a beginning. Once you have that, everything else will naturally follow.”

Last year, the atmosphere in the Scotland team was undoubtedly positive and they will strive to replicate their back-to-back opening wins this time around (while also addressing any areas for improvement, of course). Their victory against Wales in the first game was both more and less convincing than their 35-7 triumph in 2023. However, successfully defending against Wales’ strong second half performance will benefit them greatly. Next, France will come to Edinburgh looking to redeem themselves and climb up from their current position at the bottom of the standings with zero points.

The French team, known as Les Bleus, emerged victorious during their last trip to Murrayfield as they marched towards the 2022 Grand Slam. However, it must be noted that the current squad is not at the same dominant level in terms of players and performance. Nevertheless, it is highly unlikely that they will perform as poorly as they did against Ireland.

Scotland will remember that their match against France 12 months ago was the cause of their initial downfall, which they had been so optimistic about. This upcoming match is the challenge they must conquer before facing England in two weeks.
