On the fourth day of the third Test match between India and England, India emerged victorious with a margin of 434 runs. Here’s a recap of how the day unfolded.

I will stop here. Appreciation to everyone who sent messages and contacted during the Test match. Even though England was heavily defeated, the series is still open with two matches remaining. Stokes and his team will undoubtedly attempt to harness the same energy that led to a comeback in the previous Ashes. Come back next week for the fourth Test and enjoy even more excitement. Take care!

James Taylor (probably not the former England, Notts and Leicestershire batter) notes that people tend to forget quickly. Just a few years ago, there was much sadness over the state of English test cricket as we were losing to every team. At that time, we would have been happy with a 3-0 scoreline, even with a couple of close matches, especially with our current bowling lineup. Winning even one test in India is extremely challenging, so being still in the series is reason to be hopeful.

Debbie Dodd comments on my case (11.30) and states that the batting collapse was solely due to England’s style of play. She believes that successful teams are able to adjust to different conditions and do not rely on a fixed playing strategy. Each player must be able to adapt to the changing game as it progresses. It is contradictory to praise Bazball as the saviour of Test cricket when England wins, but dismiss their victory as a result of the opposing team’s skill when they lose.

“Throughout history, successful teams have demonstrated a balance between playing aggressively and providing entertaining gameplay. These same teams have also understood the importance of patience and perseverance. It is this combination that sets them apart and makes them great. However, until England recognizes that their tactic of ‘Bazball’ may be effective for some players and in certain situations, but not universally applicable, and that it doesn’t require a specific label, they will never reach their full potential as a team. Ironically, ‘Bazball’ is simply a tactic used in 50-over cricket, a format in which England struggles.”

Alastair Cook has selected his team for the upcoming Test, opting to include Dan Lawrence instead of Jonny Bairstow. TOWIE.

Stokes and Graeme Swann have a conversation for TNT. Surprisingly, Swann asks if Stokes is able to bowl in the series. Stokes responds by saying he is feeling good as he has resumed training. He neither confirms nor denies the possibility.

“According to Gary Moors, this match was destined to end in a draw. He views a five-match series as a campaign and believes that England lacks the mental endurance to see it through.”

Ravindra Jadeja has been declared the Player of the Match, displaying exceptional skills upon his comeback from injury. It should be noted that India was in a dire situation at 33-3 when he entered the game on the first day, but he managed to score an impressive century. In addition, he also took seven wickets, showcasing a remarkable all-around performance.

During a brief conversation with Deep Dasgupta, Ben Stokes remains optimistic and reminds everyone that despite being 2-1 down with two games left, they still have a chance to win the series.

“It’s a lovely 35 degrees here on the Australian beach in the evening, and I’m happily indulging in fish and chips while watching England’s collapse,” wrote a cheerful David Meiklejohn towards the end of the England innings. “Even if we get beaten in India, we can always escape to the beach and forget about it.”

India’s future looks bright, especially with Yashasvi Jaiswal’s impressive performance in his seven Test matches, boasting two double centuries and an average of 71.75. His powerful swing resulted in 12 sixes in his unbeaten 214 in this Test. Additionally, Sarfaraz Khan, who has a remarkable first-class record, delivered two half-centuries in his debut match. Dhruv Jurel also showed promising talent as a wicket-keeper.

I have received numerous messages expressing sadness over the end of Bazball. However, it is important to acknowledge that this batting performance was not solely due to England’s playing style. Similar collapses have been observed from teams in the past in the subcontinent. It is not uncommon, especially when facing a strong bowling attack, feeling pressure from the scoreboard, and dealing with a difficult pitch. India’s impressive record of not losing a series at home since 2012 is a testament to their exceptional skills.

Colum Fordham notes that Mark Wood’s lively performance has sent a message to both the Indian team and his own teammates. However, the exact meaning of this message is unclear. Wood’s batting style could be described as swinging aggressively while still aiming to make solid contact with the ball. Some may even suggest that Ami Stewart’s “Knock on Wood” should be considered his baseball anthem.

“Maybe the English team would gain an advantage by playing a legitimate match against a respectable local team prior to the next test, instead of casually traveling to Abu Dhabi. The sport of baseball has had better moments.” There is not enough time for either option, as the next test begins on Friday.

Jadeja’s performance in this Test match resulted in figures of 5-41, his 13th time achieving a five-wicket haul. He also scored a century in the first innings, solidifying his position as Player of the Match, despite Jaiswal’s impressive showing.

Jadeja achieves five wickets and Wood’s brief performance ends, as Jaiswal catches the ball at the long-off position. It’s a dominant victory for the home team, setting a new record for the largest winning margin in a men’s Test for India. With two games remaining in the series, they now lead 2-1.

In the 39th over, England is at 120-9 with Wood scoring 31 runs and Anderson scoring 1 run. Wood impressively hits another four runs off Ashwin, bringing his total to 30 runs in just 10 deliveries. This match is proving to be quite exciting.

In the 38th over, England has scored 114 runs with 9 wickets down. Wood hits a four by making space and then hits another through extra cover, bringing England’s score to 100. There is then a close lbw appeal, but India has no reviews left. Wood follows it up with a six off Jadeja’s ball and then another four over extra cover. However, on the last ball of the over, he misses and is initially given out lbw. After reviewing, it is shown that the ball was pitching outside leg stump, making it a remarkable over.

In the 37th over, the score for England is 91-9 with Wood at 8 runs and Anderson at 0 runs. Anderson’s deliveries result in two missed swings, with two players positioned at silly point hoping for a catch.

“Hello Taha, I appreciate your outstanding efforts in resolving this unpleasant situation.” Hello Daniel Barnett, thank you for your great idea. “Without a doubt, there is only one suitable candidate for creating the musical – Baz Lurhmann, the master of the ‘go big or go home’ approach. It is sure to be a spectacular production.”

Ashwin joins in the excitement! Hartley hits the ball onto his stumps, ending the game for the night.

In the 36th over, England’s score is 91-8 with Hartley at 16 and Wood at 8. It looks like Mark Wood is ready for some action! He starts off with a drive past the covers and follows it up with a slog-sweep for another boundary on the next ball.

Jadeja comes back into the game and makes an important move, catching Foakes’ edge as the England keeper attempted to make a cut. Jurel, who has been displaying confidence as a wicket-keeper today, successfully holds on to the catch.

The 35th over sees England’s score at 82-7, with Foakes and Hartley at the crease with 16 runs each. Hartley takes advantage of a poor delivery from Kuldeep and hits it for a boundary through extra cover. The possibility of reaching 100 runs is now within reach, with only 18 runs needed.

Gareth Wilson, feeling frustrated, expresses his thoughts: “The lack of competitiveness is the issue, Taha. Losing is acceptable, especially against India in their home country. Choosing the aggressive approach is fine. Being second best is also acceptable. However, it is not acceptable to purposely lose a match. It is not acceptable to prioritize aggression over responsibility.”

In the 34th over, England’s score is 77 for 7, with Foakes scoring 15 and Hartley scoring 12. There have been frequent appeals for wickets, as India seems to be aiming for a relaxed Monday.

Kim Thonger inquires, “Who would you choose as the artist to create a concept album and/or musical centered around Bazball?”

Currently, my top pick for an album would be Megadeath, and for a musical, I would select the trio of Schönberg, Boublil, and Jean-Marc Natel who are well-known for Les Miserables.

To refer to Stokes, it is necessary to use The Strokes.

England’s score is 76-7 in the 33rd over, with Foakes at 14 runs and Hartley at 12. Hartley attempts a reverse-sweep off Kuldeep but misses, resulting in Jurel making a great catch behind the stumps. Jurel appeals for a catch, but it is unsuccessful.

In the 32nd over, England’s score is 75-7 with Foakes at 13 and Hartley at 12. Ashwin delivers a dipping and spitting off break, causing Hartley to miss his forward shot and the ball ends up in the keeper’s hands. India appeals for a caught-behind and challenge the initial not-out decision. However, the review shows that the ball deflected off Hartley’s arm instead of his bat.

In the 31st over, England’s score was 75-7 with Foakes at 13 and Hartley at 12. Geoff Wignall commented that the game was not about “bazball” but rather poor cricket, as England had lost 15 wickets for less than 150 runs on a decent pitch, with their opponents scoring 430/4.

In the 30th over of the match, England’s score is 73-7 with Foakes at 12 runs and Hartley at 11 runs. Hartley, who pulls off the stylish long-sleeve rolled-up look, confidently hits a six over long-on off Ashwin’s delivery before powerfully cutting for a four.

In the 29th over of the match, England has a score of 61-7 with Foakes scoring 11 runs and Hartley at 0. Foakes manages to hit two consecutive boundaries, providing some relief for England. However, India wastes a review after Kuldeep hits the front pad outside the off stump.

In the 28th over, the score for England is 53-7 with Foakes scoring 3 runs and Hartley scoring 0. Ashwin, who is now back in the game, takes the ball for the first time this innings. He has six attempts at getting Hartley out, but Hartley manages to stay in the game.

In the 27th over, England’s score is 53-7 with Foakes scoring 3 runs and Hartley at 0. It’s hard to believe that just yesterday, England’s score was a much more impressive 224-2. Rajeev Chakrabarti from Kolkata recommends a tune and shares one of his favorite music videos featuring Maggie Rogers for everyone to enjoy.

The 26th over sees England at a score of 51-7, with Foakes at 1 run and Hartley at 0. A single from Foakes marks the end of England’s difficult performance at 50 runs.

“I would advise Rehan if I held a higher position in England’s team,” expresses Max Bonnell. “I would bring to his attention that it took him 282 balls in this Test to obtain three wickets. Test wickets are meant to be challenging to earn, and if it takes you 94 balls for each one, it is wise to make your opponents work just as hard for theirs.”

Reworded: In the 25th over, England’s score is 50-7 with Foakes and Hartley at the crease. If you’re a supporter of the English team who just woke up on a lazy Sunday morning, it’s best to go back to sleep.

Rehan catches a flight from Kuldeep and attempts a big move, but only manages to offer a simple catch to Siraj at the long-on position. England has lost three wickets without scoring any runs.

In the 24th over, England’s score is at 50-6 with Foakes and Rehan both at 0. Jadeja, who seems to be a well-oiled machine designed for annihilation, effortlessly delivers another over without conceding any runs.

England’s current score is 50-6 in the 23rd over with Foakes and Rehan both at 0. The main concern is whether England can hold on until tomorrow.

Stokes fails to execute the sweep shot this time, as Kuldeep is the bowler, and the umpire raises his finger for an out. The captain of England requests a review, but the replay shows that the ball was going on to hit the leg stump.

In the 22nd over, England’s score is 50-5 with Stokes at 15 runs and Foakes at 0 runs. Jadeja has an impressive record of 3 wickets for 10 runs from eight overs. He is a phenomenal cricketer.

Root failed to make contact with the sweep … there’s a spike on UltraEdge but there was also a gap between bat and ball. The sound is probably bat hitting the ground. Ball-tracking shows the ball just clipping the top of off stump. Root shakes his head, another low score and that after a very tight call.

Jadeja successfully appeals for lbw and the batsman decides to challenge the decision.

In the 21st over, England’s score is 50-4 with Root scoring 7 runs and Stokes scoring 15 runs. Kuldeep has come on to bowl and is causing Root difficulty with his low bounce. As a reminder, the left-arm wrist-spinner had a fantastic spell yesterday morning.

20th over: England 49-4 (Root 6, Stokes 15) “You realise we might have seen the last of Jonny Bairstow after that wicket?” writes John Starbuck. “He probably won’t retain his place even as a stopgap ‘keeper, given that Pope could do the job, at a pinch. There does come a point at which someone else is given a go.”

I would be surprised if Bairstow is not included in the remaining series games, as England is known for supporting their players. In fact, if he does play, he will reach his 100th cap in the fifth Test.

In the 19th over, England’s score is 49-4, with Root scoring 6 runs and Stokes scoring 15 runs. Stokes executes a skillful shot through square leg, sending the ball off his bat for four points.

“I believe that the selection of Stoke as captain for England’s Test team is just as significant as when Kohli took over as captain for India in the late 2010s,” comments Joon-hyuk Min. “Likewise, it may take some time before they achieve coveted victories in away series. Will they continue to rely on Bazball despite recent struggles?”

In all fairness, Stokes and his team have achieved a 3-0 win in Pakistan and were only a few runs short of a 2-0 victory in New Zealand. And, even if they lose in this match, they still have a chance to win the series.
