Actor John Savident, best known for his role on Coronation Street, passes away at 86 years old.

According to his representative, John Savident, known for his role on Coronation Street, has passed away.

The 86-year-old portrayed Fred Elliott, the butcher on the ITV soap, known for his loud voice and tendency to repeat himself.

According to a statement released by his agent to the PA news agency, we regret to inform you that actor John Savident passed away on Wednesday, February 21st. He was a beloved spouse and father to two children and will be deeply missed by those who were fortunate enough to know him.

In 1994, Savident joined the cast and was soon adored by fans. His plotlines revolved around his tumultuous romantic relationships, which included three marriages and multiple unsuccessful proposals.

Ashley Peacock (played by Steven Arnold) was a hidden son who made an appearance on the show. As they both worked as butchers, the two formed a strong relationship.

Unfortunately, Savident’s character met his demise in 2006 due to a stroke occurring on his wedding day to Bev Unwin (played by Susie Blake).
