
Winfred Wanjira, aged 36, is the organizing secretary for the Kenyan National Waste Pickers Welfare Association. She will be attending the UN discussions in Nairobi. For 18 years, she has been a waste picker at Dandora, joining her mother at the dumpsite when her family could not pay for school fees. She expressed the continued need for government assistance in providing healthcare for waste pickers, stating that when they fall ill, they cannot afford medical treatment.
